7th Annual TN Forum: Belgrade
When: September 19, 2008
Venue: Too be announced
The 7th Annual Transnational Tanteidan Forum will be held this year in the capital city of Serbia, Belgrade, the former capital of Yugoslavia. The forum, started and hosted by Tokyo in 2002, has moved around the globe to each chapter`s hometown, Stockholm, Hamburg, New York City, Singapore, and Copenhagen.
The theme this year is “Lighting Identity of a City.” Up until now, all of the forum program’s focused on lighting in the public spaces of our cities, but this year, to get a comprehensive view of each city, we will be analyzing and outlining urban lighting characteristics. What is unique about the lighting in each city? How is each city represented through light? What kind of sketch / image can we draw from the city? These are just some of many questions that will be mulled over at the forum, as we try to reconstruct each city through its lighting elements. It will be a great opportunity to compare and contrast the different lighting personality of each city.
The presenters at this year’s forum will be from the following Transnational Tanteidan Chapters, New York City, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Tokyo, Singapore, and for the first time, Beijing. In conjunction with the forum, university students from Stockholm, Belgrade, and Tokyo will be participating in a city walk workshop of Belgrade.
Those interested in attending the forum please contact the Tokyo Lighting Detective Headquarters. Hope to see you all in Belgrade!!
